About
Rebecca Lee (born 1992) was raised on Long Island, New York, and embarked on a journey defined by education, creativity, and a commitment to community engagement. Rebecca's academic career began at the University of Tampa, where she pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a concentration in photography. While attending the University of Tampa, she worked at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery and the Photography Lab. During her time at the gallery, she was the Social Outreach Coordinator, creating a social media presence for the Gallery for the first time. When the Gallery hosted visiting artists, Rebecca helped receive and install many of the works of art and personally assisted the artists in demonstrations. Post graduation, she balanced working as a teaching assistant at Hofstra University, volunteering at the Guggenheim Museum's Learning Through Art Program, and taking prerequisites for a master's program in art therapy. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she was accepted into Florida State University, where she ultimately received her Master of Science in Art Therapy (Class of 2023). There, she had the privilege of learning from esteemed professors such as Dr. David Gussak, Dr. Nancy Gerber, Dr. Barbra Parker-Bell, Dr. Karina Donald, and visiting professors like Dr. Paige Asawa. Her journey didn't end with formal education, as her art therapy practicum experiences took her to various settings where she had the opportunity to work with diverse populations. During her time at FSU, Rebecca received the Frances E. Anderson Scholarship that was Issued by Dr. Barbara Parker-Bell & Dr. Sara Scott and was a part of the Student Art Therapy Association (SATA), where she held the positions of First-Year Liasion and Social Media Coordinator.
